Is it possible for my male teddy bear hamsters to be friends?

I've had a male teddy bear hamster for almost a year now and when the pet store in town decided to go out of business they had one little male teddy left and I had to have him. They are both in seperate cages and I have tried several times to introduce them but my first teddy is not having it! He escaped his cage for the first time in a year jumped from the top of the bookshelf and wondered all the way across the room directly to where the other hamster cage was! He is fine now and seems more calm but I would really like to be able to hold them at the same time and let them play together. I've heard it is unlikely but is there any possibilty??
